Mrs. Wiessing will be the new 5th-grade teacher for our young crusader students. She holds a B.S. in Elementary Education with a concentration in math from Quincy College in Illinois and has many years of experience in formal education and individual tutoring. Her ability to help each student adapt to the curriculum will be a great asset to The Atonement Academy.
Mrs. Wiessing's teaching career at Atonement began in 2005 when she taught 1st grade for three years. She then spent two years teaching religion and math to upper and middle school students before becoming the 5th-grade boys' teacher for nine years. In her last year at the Academy, she taught 6th graders and then left to become a private tutor for homeschooled students for the past four years.
Mrs. Wiessing has deep ties to The Atonement Academy, being a parishioner at Our Lady of Atonement for over 24 years. Her personal connection to the school is further strengthened by the fact that she has raised 8 children, 6 of whom attended The Atonement Academy. She is also a grandmother of seven and has recently become a great-grandmother.
