As I sit down to write, I have just returned from a visit to the Kindergarten and First Grade P.E. class, ably led by Coaches Miranda and Skeens. On one end of the gym, a dodgeball battle raged. On the other, half-court soccer. I had meant to be discrete, but immediately upon showing myself I was surrounded by little people, offering hugs, commenting on my hair, and assuring me the Astros would do better next year. As I walked back to my office, I knew I had received a grace.
I have enjoyed many such graces since coming to Atonement. Some, like today’s, have been icons of God’s unconditional love. Others have taken the form of wise counsel, or of assistance unlooked for. What a testament to God’s presence in our community!
