It is an increasingly full time of year at Atonement, and this surge in activity is mirrored by this week’s bursting
Crusader Times newsletter. Clubs, PTC, the Class Sponsors Organization, and athletics are all shifting into high gear, so take a moment to peruse upcoming events and update your family calendar. As you do, here are some opportunities you won’t want to miss.
The Class Sponsors Organization “Breaks Ground” and Plans Dance. Last Friday, in the wake of our first real cold front, the Class Sponsors Organization held its inaugural event—
Glow-in-the-Dark Capture the Flag. Upper School scholars (9th-12th grades) found themselves engaged in an all-terrain strategic confrontation that ranged throughout the parish’s grounds. The event was conceived and executed by the 9th Grade Sponsors and students. Congratulations! Coming next is the 12th Grade Sponsors’ offering to the Upper School community—the “Fall Swing Dance” on November 2.
Love & Logic Date Night. On October 25th at 7:00 p.m. in St. Anthony Hall, we will have the privilege of hearing from Lynn Cummins, an experienced Love & Logic trainer. She will be speaking on “Parenting with Love & Logic.” Mrs. Cummins brings a wealth of wisdom and experience to her topic. She is a parent and a grandparent who over the course of her career in education has served as a counselor and administrator in both private and public schools. I encourage you and your spouse to join us. A wine and cheese reception begins at 6:30 p.m. This is a free, adults-only event. Please RSVP to the PTC Formation Committee at
[email protected] if you plan to attend.
King’s Fair at Last! I am looking forward to participating in my first King’s Fair on Saturday. Hopefully you have seen the announcements (“heralds”) going out over the past couple of weeks. Setup has already begun and the day kicks off at 10 a.m. with Mass. This is one of the Academy’s major annual fundraisers, so eat a good breakfast, stay all day, and plan to be generous!
Looking forward to seeing you there (and there, and there, and there…)!
